Look, not every crab pretzel needs to be a three-hour spiritual journey. Some Tuesdays you just need crab on a pretzel in twenty minutes, and there is zero shame in that. Frozen soft pretzels do the heavy lifting; a tub of good crab dip, doctored up, does the rest. This is the recipe you'll actually make twice a month.

Steps
Heat the oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment.
Bake the frozen pretzels per package directions, usually 5-7 minutes, until warmed through but not fully browned.
Meanwhile, stir the Old Bay into the crab dip. Taste it. Most store-bought dips are under-seasoned. Add lemon juice or hot sauce if it needs waking up.
Pull the pretzels, brush lightly with melted butter, and pile on the crab dip. Be generous, this is the whole point.
Top with cheddar and return to the oven 5-8 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling at the edges.
Finish with a dusting of Old Bay and serve with lemon wedges.
Tips from the test kitchen
Dip quality is everything here. Read the label: real crabmeat should be the first or second ingredient, not "imitation crab."
If your dip is thin, stir in a spoonful of cream cheese to thicken it so it sits on the pretzel instead of sliding off.
A quick broil at the end (60-90 seconds, watch it like a hawk) gives you those crispy browned cheese spots.
